Geriatric Rehabilitation · Yelahanka, North Bengaluru
Whether it's recovering from a fall, rebuilding strength after an illness, or simply staying steady and independent as the years go on, Impulse Physiotherapy provides individualised geriatric rehabilitation — at our centre and at home — coordinated with your treating doctors.

Geriatric rehabilitation is a specialised physiotherapy programme designed to help older adults maintain or regain mobility, strength, balance, independence and quality of life while managing age-related health conditions. There is no fixed age for it — it's recommended whenever mobility limitations, balance problems, weakness or reduced independence start interfering with daily life, whether or not there's been a major illness or surgery. Physiotherapy also helps healthy older adults stay that way — maintaining strength, flexibility, balance and endurance, and reducing fall risk before it becomes a problem.
Your first assessment evaluates medical history, mobility, balance, walking pattern, muscle strength, flexibility, posture, pain, functional abilities, fall risk and your own rehabilitation goals, before an individualised treatment plan is created.
Many older adults are managing several conditions at once — diabetes, arthritis, hypertension and osteoporosis together, for example. Rather than treating each separately, we build one integrated rehabilitation programme, with exercises modified according to your medical conditions, medications, functional limitations and your treating doctor's recommendations.

For patients with mild memory problems or cognitive impairment, exercises are simplified using clear demonstrations, repetition and step-by-step instructions. Caregivers are encouraged to participate, and home exercise programmes are designed around the patient's cognitive abilities, not a generic template.
Improving strength, balance, coordination, posture and walking ability significantly reduces fall risk — but it starts with understanding what's actually contributing to it.

Home physiotherapy is available for patients who find travelling difficult due to reduced mobility or recent illness — covering pain management, strengthening, balance training, gait training, functional rehabilitation, fall-prevention strategies and caregiver education. As recovery progresses, we encourage a transition to centre-based rehabilitation, where a broader range of equipment and treatment options is available.
Family participation is encouraged — it improves motivation, treatment compliance and long-term recovery. Caregivers are welcome at sessions and are trained in safe transfer techniques, walking assistance, proper use of walking aids, home exercise supervision, fall prevention, safe positioning, and recognising warning signs that need medical review. Medical procedures such as wound care, catheter care, drain management and medication administration remain the responsibility of the treating medical or nursing team.

Impulse Physiotherapy is an outpatient rehabilitation centre. We provide treatment at our centre and through home physiotherapy visits for eligible patients — we do not provide inpatient admission or dedicated palliative care services.
Most patients benefit from a minimum of 7 sessions; the total number depends on your condition, progress and rehabilitation goals. Consultation is ₹400, adjusted against treatment and waived with a package. Sessions range from ₹800 to ₹1,200, with discounted packages available. Home visit charges are higher than clinic charges.
