Occupational Therapy · Yelahanka, North Bengaluru
Whether it's a child building the hand and self-care skills school and home life need, or an adult regaining independence after a stroke, Occupational Therapy at Impulse Physiotherapy focuses on function — not just movement.

Occupational Therapy helps children and adults develop, regain or improve the skills needed for everyday activities — self-care, school participation, hand function and independent living. The goal is maximising functional independence and quality of life, not just restoring movement for its own sake.

Therapy helps improve upper-limb function, hand coordination, dressing, feeding, writing, self-care and other daily activities to maximise independence after stroke — restoring arm and hand movement, coordination, strength and functional use of the affected limb.
Progress is monitored through improvements in independence, hand function, coordination, ability to perform daily activities and achievement of individual rehabilitation goals. Occupational Therapy is usually started at least 48 hours after hospital discharge, once medically stable and advised by the treating doctor.

Therapy helps children develop age-appropriate fine motor, self-care, play and functional skills, enabling greater independence at home and school — improving pencil grip, hand strength, finger coordination, grasp patterns and object manipulation, visual-motor integration, sitting tolerance, attention, pre-writing skills, and independence in feeding, dressing, grooming and play.
Individualised according to the patient's age, diagnosis and functional goals.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate so therapy activities can continue effectively at home. Every patient receives an individualised home programme to reinforce therapy between sessions.

Most patients benefit from a minimum of 7 sessions; the total depends on the condition, progress and rehabilitation goals. Consultation is ₹400, adjusted against treatment and waived with a package. Occupational Therapy sessions range from ₹600 to ₹900, with discounted packages available. Home visits are available for selected patients unable to visit the clinic, at charges higher than clinic sessions.
