Parent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

My newborn has jaundice — when should I worry?

Mild jaundice in the first week is common and often resolves on its own. It needs prompt evaluation if it appears within the first 24 hours of life, spreads to the arms/legs, deepens in colour, or is still present beyond two weeks. We assess jaundice on-site; if phototherapy is required, we refer promptly to a facility equipped for it.

How do I know if my baby is feeding enough?

Adequate feeding usually shows as steady weight gain, at least 6 wet diapers a day after the first week, and a baby who settles after most feeds. If you're unsure, a weight check and feeding review at a visit is more reliable than guessing at home.

My newborn cries a lot and won't settle — is this colic?

Colic is common and usually involves predictable, intense crying episodes in an otherwise healthy, well-fed baby. However, persistent crying can also signal feeding issues, reflux, or other causes, so it's worth a pediatric review rather than assuming colic by default.

When should I bring my newborn for the first checkup?

A first newborn check is typically recommended within the first week of life, followed by the well baby visit schedule from there.

Emergency day care, procedures, lab tests, consumables, and pharmacy charges are separate from the base consultation fee and are billed on actuals.
